Seymour Daily Tribune January 29, 2002 Velma Hinkle Jackson Velma Hinkle Jackson, 105, Seymour, died at 1 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour. Mrs. Jackson was a member of First United Methodist Church in Seymour and a homemaker. Born May 29, 1896, in Elnora, she was a daughter of James Madison Hannah and Amada Palmer Hannah. On Sept. 12, 1916, she married Ross Hinkle, who died April 10, 1962. In 1970 she married Harvey Jackson, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include two granddaughters, Sandy Ollis, New Albany, and Diane Alfeld; a grandson, Steve Dickmeyer, Fallbrook, Calif.; five great-grandchildren, Sarah Ollis, Michael Ollis, Matthew Ollis, Chad Alfeld and Emily Dickmeyer; five great-great-grandchildren, Zachariah Alfeld, Taylor Alfeld, Sydney Alfeld, Emma Alfeld and Eleanor Alfeld; and a brother, Marion Judd (Edith) Hannah, Odon. She was preceded in death by a son, Byron Lee Hinkle; a daughter, June Hinkle Dickmeyer; a great-grandchild, Janet Alfeld; a brother, William Hannah; and five sisters, Louise Chafin, Mary Mullis, Lette Bert, Mabel Matherson Williams and Iola Hannah. The Rev. Neal Partain will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Community Home.
