Seymour Daily Tribune January 17, 2002 Hendrick M. Jansen Hendrick M. “Hank” Jansen, 54, Seymour, died at 8:53 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. He had been ill for five months. Mr. Jansen was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He was a Vietnam veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart. He lived most of his life in Jackson County and had worked as a welder for Industrial Machine Repair Inc. in Hayden. Born Nov. 14, 1947, in Maasgtrieht, Holland, he was the son of Marinus Jansen and Anna Godding Jansen, who survive in Seymour. On Aug. 6, 1983, in Seymour, he married Debbie Palmer, who also survives in Seymour. Other survivors include two sons, Larry (Treasa) Jansen and Ronnie (Anna) Jansen, both of North Vernon; a daughter, Tina (Rodger) Combs, Seymour; a stepson, Michael Palmer, Columbus; six grandchildren, Hannah Jansen, Shelby Combs, Stevie Combs, Rachael Owens, Logan Palmer and Morgan Palmer; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an uncle and grandparents. The Rev. John Hall will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7, all of Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
