Seymour Tribune - October 21, 1989 James Jaynes James “Jim” Jaynes, 88, of 619 S. O’Brien St., Seymour, died at 7:15 a.m. today at Community Care Center, Seymour. He had been ill for five months. He was a member of Seymour Christ Temple Apostolic, Seymour. He was a self-employed plumber. Mr. Jaynes was born on Aug. 9, 1901, in Seymour, to George Thomas and Cora Hinds Jaynes. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He married Della M. Alexander on Oct. 8, 1920, in Brownstown. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Joyce Bode and Madelyn Kiser, both of Seymour; and Louise Pearson, San Bernardino, Calif.; three sisters Myrtle Ballard and Agnes Henley, both of Indianapolis; and Mary Trapp, Seymour; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and two sisters. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. The Rev. Dennis Allman will officiate. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel. Memorials can be made to Leukemia Foundation.
