Seymour Daily Tribune Donald E. Jines June 6, 1935 – June 13, 2006 Donald E. “Whitey” Jines, 71, of Seymour and formerly of North Vernon, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Jines retired from Rockwell Automation after 32 years. He was a member of Seymour Family Worship Center. He enjoyed woodworking, roller skating, bowling, the outdoors and spending quality time with his grandchildren. Born June 6, 1935, in Bartholomew County, he was a son of Lewis and Madge McNeely Jines, both of whom preceded him in death. On Nov. 22, 1956, in Jennings County, he married Wilma Burton, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Donald Jines, Seymour; a daughter, Catherine (Mike) Terry, Seymour; two brothers, Larry (Pam) Jines, North Vernon, and Frank (Millie) Jines, Columbus; four sisters, Marsha McMurtry, Leila (Roy) Mitchell and Grace Ramey, North Vernon, and Bertha (Walt) Parish, Florida; four grandchildren, Stephanie (David) Kenery, Indianapolis, and Samantha Jines, Craig Jines and Matthew Terry, Seymour. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Jines, and three brothers, Michael, Hugh and Lewis “Buck” Jines. The Rev. Ron and the Rev. Jeanie Evans will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at Pickett Funeral Home, North Vernon. Burial will take place at Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Hospital or Riley Hospital for Children.
