Seymour Tribune - February 2009 Wilma J. Johnson Wilma J. Johnson, 74, of Seymour passed away at 11:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at her home. She was a 1952 graduate of Shields High School in Seymour and was employed at Neawedde Sales and Service, K-Mart and Ben Franklin, where she retired in 1997. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour and was a volunteer for the Monday Evening Friendship Bible Study on Elm Street, Lutheran Community Home and Trinity Lutheran High School. She was born on March 6, 1934, in Seymour, to Theodore H. and Katherine C. Otting Neawedde. Wilma was married to Earl Johnson on April 6, 1956, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1999. Survivors include her son, James (Carol) Johnson, Seymour; granddaughter, Sara Johnson, Seymour; a brother, Roy Neawedde, Seymour; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Helen Emily; and four brothers, Virgil and Glen Neawedde and infants Donald and Arthur Neawedde. The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch and the Rev. Jimmy Rodriguez will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
