Seymour Tribune - June 7, 2007 Edna Maxine Jones Dec. 17, 1926 – June 3, 2007 Edna Maxine Jones, 80, Pace, Fla., passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007, at her son’s home in Florida. She moved from Crothersville to Florida in September 1998. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and enjoyed singing, listening to gospel music and writing poetry. She attended and graduated from Tampico High School and attended Tampico Baptist Church, where she was baptized as a young girl, then later in life became a member of Scottsburg Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Born Dec. 17, 1926, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Oren R. and Goldie E. Morgan Johnson. She was married to Robert L. Jones for 27 years and leaves behind four lovely children, two daughters, Brenda L. Jones (Larry) Greif, Bluford, Ill., and Susan L. Leatherbury, Tobinsport, two sons, Bobby Jones (Carol Flynn), Scottsburg, and Brent Alan Jones, Pace, Fla.; seven beautiful grandchildren, Tiffany (Karl) Heimer, Laurel, Md., Jim McDonald, Tobinsport, Morgan Greif, Shreveport, La., Ryan Jones, Scottsburg, Suzanne Downs, Sellersburg, Whitney (Troy) Hill, Corydon, and Ben Leatherbury, Salem; and a beautiful great-grandchild, Addyson Downs, Sellersburg. She loved them all deeply, they all were special and precious to her, and she was blessed to have them in her life. She also is survived by a brother, Glen (Lonavene) Johnson, Vallonia, and five sisters, Irene Garriott, Bettendorf, Iowa, Esther Wright-Higginbotham, Fruitland Park, Fla., Ruth Hunt, Raleigh, N.C., Faye Ruddick, San Bernardino, Calif., and Donna Bryant, Crothersville. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Dale, Ray and Carl Lee Johnson, and a sister, Doris McKain-Benge. Funeral services will be conducted by her sister Donna Bryant at 1 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2007, at Adams Funeral Home, Crothersville. Burial will take place at Crothersville Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from noon until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
