Seymour Daily Tribune April 23, 2002 Mary Evelyn King Mary Evelyn King, 80, North Vernon, died Sunday, April 21, 2002, at her residence. Mrs. King was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and flowers. She formerly attended Freedom Baptist Church. Born March 25, 1922, in Jennings County, she was a daughter of Irvin Tungeitt and Josephine Tungeitt, who both preceded her in death. On Aug. 3, 1940, in Vernon, she married Roy Earl King Jr., and he died March 5, 1977. She is survived by two sons, Larry King, North Vernon, and Gene King, Vernon; two daughters, Nancy King and Betty Hoyt, both of North Vernon; three granddaughters, Gail Sedam, North Vernon, Dorothy Gorbett, Brownstown, and Melanie King, Vernon; a grandson, Leslie Richardson, Madison; two step-granddaughters, Melissa Freeman, North Vernon, and Melinda Freeman, Vernon; two brothers, James Tungeitt, Seymour, and Floyd Tungeitt, North Vernon; a sister, Alberta Brown, Dix, Ill.; and eight great-grandchildren. She also was preceded by two brothers, Ralph Tungeitt and Charles Tungeitt; and three sisters, Helen Lawver, Ruth Sorreal and Ruby Buschel. The Rev. Karen Reynolds will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home, North Vernon. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery, Vernon. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association through the funeral home.
