The Tribune Seymour, Indiana Monday, August 11, 1997 Page 1 Medora Man Killed Electrocuted in incident reported on Scott Drive A 57-year-old Medora man died after he was electrocuted in an incident on Sunday afternoon at Medora. James William Kiser was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Seymour, Deputy Jackson County Coronor Dr. Eric Wegener said. Kiser was taken to the hospital after Medora Town Marshal Michael Cooper attempted to perform CPR on him after the incident, reported at 1:19 p.m. Sunday. Carr Township emergency workers and Jackson County Ambulance Service personnel assisted. Cooper said today the electrocution apparently occurred as Kiser was working on a microwave overn that was sitting in the back of a pickup at his home in the 200 block of West Scott Drive. The electrocution occurred after the microwave was plugged in. Kiser was head custodian at Medora High School and had worked 30 years at the Medora Brick Plant. Born April 17, 1940, in Bloomington, he was a son of William and Dorothy Hunsucker Kiser. On June 2, 1962, in Medora, he married Maymie Earl Kiser; she survives. Other survivors include a son, James Lee Kiser, Medora; a daughter, Susan Higginbotham, Medora; three brothers, Frank Kiser, Seymour; Donnie Kiser, Haleysburg; and Robert Kiser, Vallonia; a sister, Virgie Goen, Medora; and a grandson, Justin Ray Douglas.
