Seymour Daily Tribune January 16, 2002 Donald V. Klingler Donald V. Klingler, 71, Seymour, died at 12:28 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at his home. Mr. Klingler worked at the Department of Defense, where he served as chief of the Property Disposal and Reutilization Office for 27 years. He retired in 1993. He was a member of Brownstown Baptist Church and was a lifelong member of the American Legion. He also was a member of the Seymour Elks Club, Scottish Rite in Indianapolis and D.R.M.O. of the World in Indianapolis and was a 1949 graduate of Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis. He was a U.S. Marine Corps corporal, serving in the Korean War. He was discharged in 1952. He also served as a civilian defense employee in Vietnam in 1971 and 1972. Born Dec. 20, 1930, in Snomac, Okla., he was a son of S. Vern Klingler and Cora Cluck Klingler. On March 9, 1973, in Indianapolis, he married Marcene J. Jeffery, who survives in Seymour. Other survivors include three sons, Dal L. Klingler, Portland, Ore., Daniel V. Klingler (wife Beth Ann) and Darren C. Klingler, both of Indianapolis; two daughters, Jo Walter (husband Morris), Fortville, and Conne Kalweit (husband John), Sun City, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Klingler, Lafayette. He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. A private family memorial service will be conducted in Colorado at a later date. Myers Funeral Service, Burkholder Chapel, Seymour, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
