Seymour Daily Tribune March 29, 2002 Slater Knotts Dr. Slater Knotts, 81, Seymour, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Seymour. Dr. Knotts was a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a radiologist at Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Seymour Elks and Seymour Country Club and was a former member of the Elizabethtown Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the American Radiology Society and the American Medical Association University of St. Louis and was a graduate of the University of Louisville Medical School. He was in general practice in Rochester for 4½ years before going into radiology. Born May 13, 1920, in Muncie, he was a son of Halleck Knotts and Minda Slater Knotts. On July 4, 1946, in Louisville, he married Mary Helen DeJarnette, who survives in Seymour. Other survivors include three sons, D.J. Knotts, Indianapolis, Clayton (Sherry) Knotts, Floyds Knobs, and David (Cindy) Knotts, Seymour; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Lucille Foster, California. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. H.S. Knotts. The Rev. John Moore will conduct a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to Seymour Boys and Girls Club or Girls Inc. through Voss and Sons Funeral Service, which is in charge of arrangements.
