Seymour Tribune - March 2009 Esther Polley Kriete 1940 - 2009 Esther Polley Kriete, 68, Seymour, passed away at 3:22 p.m. Tuesday, March, 24, 2009, at Hampton Oaks Health Care Center, Scottsburg. Mrs. Kriete was a member of Surprise Christian Church, Seymour. She was a graduate of Shields High School and was employed in the office of J.C. Penney and in medical records at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Born Aug. 6, 1940, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Claude and Jeannette White Polley Sr., both of whom preceded her in death. On Aug. 7, 1963, in Brownstown Lutheran Church, she married Everett Kriete, who preceded her in death in November 1979. Survivors include a son, Connor Xavier (Alice) Macleod; four stepsons, Robert (Pat) Kriete, Earl (Debbie) Kriete, Gary (Sandy) Kriete and Terry (Cheryl) Kriete; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary (Harlan) Helwig, Martha Farris, Teresa (James) Morrow and Marilyn McKinney; and four brothers, Claude (Alice) Polley Jr., B.L. "Britt" Polley, William Polley and John Polley. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. The Rev. Steve Muster will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
