Seymour Daily Tribune February 8, 2002 Mildred Foist Lafferty Mildred Foist Lafferty, 87, Seymour, died at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Seymour. Mrs. Lafferty was of the Christian faith. She retired from Spartan’s in Brownstown and also had worked for the Excello Shirt Factory in Seymour. Born Dec. 19, 1914, in Jennings County, she was a daughter of Guy Foist and Lucy Sharp Foist. On March 27, 1932, in Jennings County, she married William Joseph “Bill” Lafferty, who died April 6, 1981. Survivors include two sons, Max Lafferty, Seymour, and Charles Francis Lafferty, Louisiana; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Lucy) Engel, Paris Crossing, Mrs. Larry (Betty) Manning, Florida, and Mrs. Joseph (Debra) Hutchens, Seymour; a brother, Francis Foist, Seymour; a sister, Mary Helen Wolfinger, Florida; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lafferty, and a granddaughter, Dian Sawyer. The Rev. Paul Schlueter and the Rev. Andrew Currao will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Laura Culp Cancer Fund or donor’s choice.
