Seymour Daily Tribune February 6, 2002 Dale E. LaMaster Dale E. LaMaster, 71, of Scottsburg and formerly of Ohio, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at his home. Mr. LaMaster was retired as vice president of corporate services for Westfield Insurance Cos. in Westfield, Ohio, had been chief of police for Scottsburg from 1952 to 1955, was a former conservation officer for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Wadsworth, Ohio, had been a Masonic Lodge member since 1967 and had been a member of Scottsburg Masonic Lodge 572 since 1998 and of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 107 since June 2000. He also was a member of American Legion Post 234 in Scottsburg and Moose Family Center 2324 and had been a member of the Scott County Sheriff’s Posse since 1992. Born Feb. 10, 1930, in Scott County, he was the son of Cass Lewis LaMaster and Rosa Williams. He married Dawn R. Boyes, who survives in Scottsburg. Other survivors include four daughters, Breane LaMaster, Scottsburg, Amy Okeze, Tacoma, Wash., Luanne Kane, Stafford, Va., and Pamela Marlowe, Tucson, Ariz.; two sons, Eugene LaMaster, Scottsburg, and Shawn LaMaster, Tucson, Ariz.; three sisters, Charlotte Richey, Margaret Grace Strouse and Norma Bebout, all of Scottsburg; and 12 grandchildren. Phil LaMaster will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg. Burial will be in Scottsburg Cemetery. A military graveside service will be conducted by Crothersville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1083. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to charities of choice in care of Collins Funeral Home.
