Seymour Tribune - August 26, 2009 Katherine Marie Lauderbaugh "Katie" Katherine Marie Hill "Katie" Lauderbaugh, 68, Madison, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at The Waters of Clifty Falls, Madison. Mrs. Lauderbaugh resided in Jackson County until the age of 13, when the family moved to Madison. She attended Madison High School and Ivy Tech State College. She was first employed with Conn Organ Company in Madison for several years. She then owned and operated the Blue Bird Café in downtown Madison for several years and then later the Wheel Horse in Morgan City, La. She then began a career as a certified nursing assistant for 18 years with the Madison State Hospital. She enjoyed playing bingo, socializing at the American Legion and attending garage and yard sales. She loved playing with her animals, especially her dogs and cats. She was raised in North Madison Baptist Church and attended North Madison Christian Church. Born July 4, 1941, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Everett and Georgia Conway Hill, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Herb Bushong in 1962. She later married Gilbert L. Lauderbaugh Jr., on Oct. 18, 1969. Survivors include a son, Roger Bushong, Madison; stepdaughter, Tonia Gray (Tom) Spille, Florence, Ky; stepson, Troy Gray, Florence, Ky.; grandchildren, Meagan Stehlin, Ian Cobler, Tosha Cobler, Jessica McMillan and Jennifer Gray; brother, Kenneth (Liz) Hill, Madison; niece and caregiver, Sherry Haney, Madison; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by half brothers, Charles, John and Gordon Polley. Brother Bob Hicks will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Uniontown Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from noon until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
