Seymour Tribune - May 8, 2009 Lucille S. (Schuerman) Lawson 1921 - 2009 Lucille S. Lawson, 88, Seymour, passed away at 10:57 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour. Mrs. Lawson was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. She had been a cook at Seymour High School before her retirement. She had also worked at Hulda's Caf? for a number of years. Lucille was born in Jackson County on Jan. 19, 1921, the daughter of the late William H. and Lydia A. Snyder Schuerman. Mrs. Lawson was the widow of Otis Thomas Lawson, whom she married in 1947. Mr. Lawson passed away in October 1958. She had been an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, holding various offices. Lucille is survived by a daughter, Brenda Lawson (Keith) Cockerham; three grandchildren, Graeme Cockerham, Chet Cockerham and Brandi Hobson; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilma D. Ritz; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one infant brother; and a companion of many years, William Ritz. The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg and Rev. Philip Bloch will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at Voss Chapel in Seymour. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Reddington Cemetery.
