Seymour Daily Tribune January 31, 2007 Margaret Lockman Feb. 22, 1924 - Jan. 30, 2007 Margaret "Peg" Lockman, 82, Brownstown, died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Lockman was a member of Seymour Christian Church where her son, Bill Lockman, is senior pastor. She was previously a member of Brownstown Christian Church, where she had served as choir director for 32 years. She was office manager of the Jackson County Health Department for 26 years, retiring in 1989. She then worked part time as director of the Jackson County Mental Health Association until 2003. Born Feb. 22, 1924, in Bedford, she was a daughter of Harley C. and Myrtle Russell Hackler, both of whom preceded her in death. On Sept. 3, 1943, in Indianapolis, she married Clifford Lockman, who died Aug. 31, 1986. Survivors include a son, Bill (Love) Lockman, Seymour; two daughters, Jennifer Lockman and Cathy (Tom) Zabel, Brownstown; five grandchildren, Melissa Zabel Acton, Adam (Tina) Zabel and Billy, Andy and Stephen Lockman; three great-grandchildren, Laney and Piper Acton and Brooklynn Zabel; a niece, Barbara Hackler; a nephew, Dick Hackler; and two great-nephews, Scott and Rick Hackler. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah Jayne Zabel, and a brother, Floyd Hackler. The Rev. Bill Lockman will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Seymour Christian Church, 915 Kasting Road, Seymour. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to Seymour Christian Church. Arrangements are being handled by Zabel Funeral Home, Brownstown.
