Seymour Daily Tribune May 15, 2002 Benjamin Phillip Logsdon Benjamin “Ben” Phillip Logsdon, 68, Columbus, died at 10:16 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at his home. Mr. Logsdon retired in 1996 after 32 years at Ford Motor Co. He was a member of the Central Heights Church of God in Columbus and a former member of the First Church of God in Rushville. He was a past commander of VFW Post 1541, past 10th district commander of the VFW and past state membership chairman for Central Indiana VFW. Born April 5, 1934, in Rushville, he was a son of Ben and Gertrude Clemmons Logsdon. On July 12, 1987, in Greensburg, he married Lula M. Saylor and she survives. He also is survived by two sons, Lewis Wayne Logsdon, Indianapolis, and Michael Logsdon, Rush-ville; a daughter, Cindy Boyd, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two stepsons, Brian Walters, Greensburg, and Ed Walters, Columbus; two stepdaughters, Bobbi Heaton, Greensburg, and Kimberly Sovern, Seymour; three grandchildren, Natalie Logsdon, Anderson, and Tamika Masterson and Donald Masterson, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 10 stepgrandchildren, Joel Walters, Tessa Walters, Jay Walters, Joshua Walters, Felicia Walters and Brittany Walters, all of Columbus, Natasha Heaton, Greensburg, and Hannah Sovern, Angel Sovern and Michael Sovern, all of Seymour; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Monte Logsdon, Milroy, and Roy Logsdon, Mission Viejo, Calif.; and two sisters, Aribelle Burkett, Fountaintown, and Louise Rhoades, Rushville. He was preceded by two brothers and three sisters. The Rev. Rick Johnson, the Rev. Charles Justus and the Rev. Mark West will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Church of God in Rushville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel, Columbus, and from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
