John Eric Losey
John Eric Losey, 49, Scottsburg, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Losey was a computer operator for the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville and a former sports writer for the Vincennes and New Castle newspapers. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Scottsburg, a trustee and Sunday school director, secretary of the Finley Township Fire De-partment, a newsletter editor and member of the Jefferson County Civil War Roundtable, Madison, and a member of the Scott County Cemetery Board.
Born July 8, 1952, in Scottsburg, he was a son of John Losey and Eileen Shields, who both survive in Scottsburg.
He also is survived by a sister, Jana Eileen Piet, Daytona Beach, Fla.; and a nephew, Brian T. Losey, Jacksonville, N.C.
The Rev. Walter Terry will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church, Scottsburg. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery, Scottsburg.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg, and from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church.
