Seymour Daily Tribune April 19, 2002 Beulah Gail Low Beulah Gail Low, 85, North Vernon, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at Jennings Health Care Center, North Vernon. Mrs. Low completed the eighth grade at Brewersville School and was a 1933 graduate of Vernon High School. She was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church, the Muscatatuck Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Business and Professional Women’s Club. She served as deputy county assessor and deputy county auditor when her husband held those offices, and was appointed auditor when he died during the first year of his second term, becoming the first woman to hold a county office in Jennings County. She later was employed as a teller at the former First National Bank, retiring from the Hayden branch in 1982. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking, reading and visiting with friends. Born Dec. 24, 1916, in Brewersville, she was the daughter of Jesse Wilton Kellar and Pearl Margaret Merrill Kellar, who both preceded her in death. On Dec. 24, 1936, in Vernon, she married Bernard M. Low and he died Aug. 21, 1967. She is survived by a son, Jesse Low, North Vernon; a daughter, Lois Manlief, North Vernon; two granddaughters, Diane Maschino, Hayden, and Joyce Carmichael, North Vernon; and four great-grandchildren, Christopher Maschino, Tyler Maschino, Jacob Maschino and Emily Davis, all of Hayden. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Warren Francis Kellar, Jesse Kenneth Kellar and Marvin Stanley Kellar. The Rev. Gary R. Cunningham will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home, North Vernon. Burial will be at Kellar Cemetery, Brewersville.
