Dorothy (Jaynes) Lucas
1922 - 2008

Dorothy Lucas, 86, Seymour, passed away at 6:57 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, in the care of her loving family.
Mrs. Lucas was a member of Apostolic Glenlawn Pentecostal Church, Seymour, and was a homemaker.
Born in Seymour, on March 12, 1922, she was the daughter of Claude R. and Fannie F. Wilkerson Jaynes, both of whom preceded her in death. On Oct. 22, 1939, in Jeffersonville, she married James Everett Lucas, who preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1978.
Survivors include her children, Jean Kelly, Kathy Lucas, Sue (Anthony) Colvin, Claudia (William) Dawson, Jo (Ed) Henthorne, Richard (Gustina) Lucas, Harry (Donna) Lucas, David (Diane) Lucas, Tim Lucas, Robert (Tonia) Lucas and Mike Lucas; 32 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandy Jaynes, Mildred Jager and Norma Strom; and a brother, Wilbur Jaynes.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Russell Lucas, and two brothers and a sister.
Brother Homer Roberts will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, with a Voss dove release.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
