Seymour Daily Tribune Julia L. Manion Oct. 26, 1916 – July 3, 2006 Julia L. Manion, 89, Seymour, died Monday, July 3, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs. Manion retired from H.O. Canfield and Co. in 1978. She was a member of Central Christian Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1925, and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 89. She was the former vice president and member of Jackson County Mental Health Association. She also delivered Meals on Wheels to shut-ins. Born Oct. 26, 1916, in Brownstown, she was a daughter of George H. and Esther L. Wineinger Blevins, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 25, 1946, she married Fred M. Manion, who survives. Others survivors include one daughter, Deanna (Stephen) Surface; one grandson, Adam (Darci) Surface; four step-grandchildren, Suzanne (Scott) McDonald, Stephen (Patty) Surface, Scott (Karen) Surface, Stuart (Maria) Surface; one great-grandson, Noah Surface; six step great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronald D. (Elaine) Blevins, Seymour; one sister, Doris Huckleberry, Palatka, Fla. She was preceded in death by two brothers, J. Kenneth Blevins and George Blevins Jr. The Rev. Sam Davenport will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Central Christian Church or Riley Hospital for Children Isolation Unit.
