Seymour Daily Tribune February 7, 2002 Susannah Keller Markel Susannah Keller Markel, 81, Brownstown, died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Mrs. Keller was a member of Brownstown United Methodist Church and had been a Sunday school teacher for 35 years. She was a member of the auxiliary of the Brownstown American Legion Post. She was a homemaker and had moved to Brownstown in 1949. She attended Corydon High School and graduated from Fairfax Hall in Virginia. She attended DePauw University for two years. Born July 3, 1920, at Corydon, she was a daughter of Joseph Keller and Aileen Keller. On Jan. 10, 1942, at Corydon, she married Bruce Markel Jr., who died March 27, 1984. Survivors include two sons, Joseph K. Markel and Bruce Markel III, both of Brownstown; a sister, JoAnn Koegel, Valley Lee, Md.; and six grandchildren, Courtney (Jack) Bishop, Hilary Markel, Ashley Markel, Brittney Markel, Andrew Markel and Samuel Markel. The Rev. Jack Shake will conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Brownstown United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Zabel Funeral Home in Brownstown and from noon until time of service Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to Brownstown United Methodist Church.
