Seymour Daily Tribune February 9, 2007 Elsie E. Martin Elsie E. Martin, 80, Freetown, died at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Martin was a member of Freetown Church of Christ. Mrs. Martin and her husband had ministries in Owingsville, Lawrenceburg, Willisburg and Liberty, Ky. She was a cook at Camp Calvary for 20 years and was a babysitter for numerous children. Born Jan. 14, 1927, in Vallonia, she was a daughter of Clyde Victor and Sarah (Bryant) Morgan. On Aug. 20, 1950, at Honeytown, she married George Martin, who survives. Other survivors include three children, Sharon (Dennis) Taylor, Freetown, Kevin (Tina) Martin, Lowville, N.Y. and James (Joy) Martin, Lawrenceburg, Ky.; two sisters, Virginia Murphy and Doris Spicer, both of Seymour; six grandchildren, Amanda Taylor, Leigh Ann Taylor, Tori Anderson, and Hunter, Caitlin and Caleb Martin. She was preceded in death by one brother, Marion Morgan and one sister, Iva Murphy. Larry Tedrow and Nelson Lee will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday at Freetown Church of Christ. Burial will take place at Lucas Cemetery, Freetown. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown, and from 1 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the church. Memorials may be given to Camp Calvary or Freetown Church of Christ Building Fund.
