Joan Carol Martin

Joan Carol Martin, 71, Seymour, died at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 23, 2006, at her residence. She had been in failing health for 1 ½ years.
Mrs. Martin was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour. She was a loving wife and mother. She formerly worked at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour, in the surgery department.
Born in Lawrence County, on Dec. 29, 1934, she was a daughter of Claude and Mary Jane (Meadows) Johnson. On Jan. 19, 1952, she married Rex Martin in Jeffersonville, who survives.
Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Martin, Seymour; one sister, Sharon Freeman (Thomas), Seymour, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded by one son, Bradley Martin, and half brother Marvin Johnson.
Father Todd Goodson will conduct funeral service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church. Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel.
Memorials may be given to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Prayer Mass or Donors choice of Charity.
