Seymour Daily Tribune Roger L. Maschino July 31, 2006 Roger L. Maschino, 69, Hayden, died Friday, July 28, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mr. Maschino farmed his entire life on the Maschino farm that has been in the family for 100 years. He also owned Maschino Trucking Co. and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Four Corners. He attended Hayden High School. He pulled tractors in the 1960s and '70s, serving on the Jennings County Fair Board from 1979-1999, plowed snow from the county roads after the 1978 blizzard, collected and showed antique pedal tractors, enjoyed restoring old farm tractors and riding in mule trains. He raised Polled Hereford cattle and received blue ribbons at the Indiana State Fair in 1996-97-98. He invented the corn saver in 2003. Born Nov. 28, 1936, Mr. Maschino was the son of Victor and Ruth Hawk Maschino, both of whom preceded him in death. On Sept. 14, 1957, at St. Mary's Church in North Vernon, he married Mary Ann Ebbing, who survives. Other survivors include three sons, Randy (Pam), Lenny and Steve Maschino, all of Hayden; two daughters, Anita (Don) Biehle, North Vernon; and Lynda (Dan) Bauerle, Hayden; three brothers, Paul Maschino, Louisville, Amos Maschino, Hayden, and Arthur Maschino, Ohio; three sisters, Irene Simmons, Hayden, Agnes Euler, Columbus, and Sister Juanita Maschino, Beech Grove; 10 grandchildren, Atina (Dan) Rozhon, Brian and Kevin Biehle, Ryan, Renissa, Jessica and Jason Maschino, Nicholas, Karen, and Cheryl Bauerle; and one great-grandchild, Tyler Smith. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Leroy Maschino. The funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Kleebler officiating. Calling will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Pickett Funeral Home and a rosary at 7:30 p.m. today. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Jennings County or the Hayden Museum.
