Seymour Daily Tribune February 19, 2002 Patsy Jo McKain Patsy Jo McKain, 54, Freetown, died at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Columbus Regional Hospital after an illness of five years. Mrs. McKain was a member of Freetown Church of Christ, where she also had been a Sunday school teacher for many years. She had worked as a teller at the Monroe County Bank branch at Freetown and was a correspondent for more than 20 years with the Columbus Republic newspaper. She had been a volunteer for the American Heart Association and participated in the Freetown Improvement Association for several years. Born Oct. 3, 1947, in Carr Creek, Ky., she was a daughter of James Monroe and Ruby Mae Ison Francis. She had lived in Jackson County for more than 50 years. On Sept. 24, 1965, in Freetown, she married Danny Edward McKain, who survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Vivian Haubry, Seymour, and Mary Jane Steinkamp, Freetown; a granddaughter, Hannah Jo Haubry; a brother, J.D. “Bud” Francis, Spraytown; and two sisters, Barbara Sue Lyon, Seymour, and Virginia Holtman, Seattle. Bill Teegarden will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Freetown Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Old Regular Baptist Church Cemetery, Freetown. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Freetown Church of Christ Building Fund.
