Seymour Daily Tribune March 18, 2002 Bertha McPherson Bertha McPherson, 78, Edinburgh, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2002, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital, North Vernon. Mrs. McPherson was a homemaker and worked as a cook at Camp Atterbury during World War II. Born April 27, 1923, in Jackson County, she was a daughter of Elza Newton Edwards and Hazel Marie Callahan Edwards. On Aug. 24, 1946, she married James W. McPherson, who died Sept. 9, 2001. Survivors include a son, Jim McPherson, Scipio; two daughters, Jenny McPherson, Edinburgh, and Judy Krebbs, Seymour; five grandsons, Brice McPherson, Scipio, Brian Wilson, Seymour, Greg Wilson, Freetown, Kevin Wilson, Brownstown, and Bill Wilson, Norman; two stepgranddaughters, Tiffany Franklin, Gurnee, Ill., and Natalie Hammond, Scipio; a brother, Denver Edwards, Seymour; two sisters, Innis Barrett, Bedford, and Mabel Cummings, Seymour; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Perry, Dave and Stanley Edwards, and a grandson, John Eric Wilson. The Rev. Byron Fritz will conduct services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, Edinburgh. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Fund.
