Jerry Meadors, 54, Seymour, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Mr. Meadors was a former worker for the city of Seymour and was a former dragstrip racer who loved to wrestle bears.
Born April 25, 1952, in Crothersville, he was a son of Albert L. and Jessie Spall Meadors, both of whom preceded him in death. In 1968, he married Betty Ross Meadors, whom he later divorced. On May 20, 1994, in Seymour, he married Betty Riegel Meadors, who survives.
Other survivors include his children, Anna (Armando) Gonzalez, Aurora, Ill., Joanna (Scott) Gullion, Henryville, Jerry Lewis (Gina) Meadors, Seymour, John (Crystal) Neal, Freetown, and Larry Neal of C Company, stationed in Iraq; his siblings, Bessie (Curtis) Lush and Terry (Willie) Meadors, both of Seymour, and Lawrence (Tootie) Meadors, Brownstown; five grandchildren, Patrick L. Meadors and Vanesa M. Gonzalez, Aurora, Ill., Nicholas Meadors, Seymour, and Megan and Cassidy Neal, Freetown; and five stepchildren from his first marriage, Roy Bogard, Betty Jo Bogard Cornwall and Kay Bogard, Seymour, Mike Bogard, Mount Eagle, Tenn., and Dorthy Bogard, Aurora, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
The Rev. Jay Bennett will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be at Hayden Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Calvary Baptist Church.
