Mrs. Melloncamp was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown. She was an artist, owner of Rose Hill Crafts. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Catherine was a loving wife and mother who found much joy with her four children, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Besides her family, her great love was for anything artistic and creative and she found many outlets for her creativity. She and her late husband started Rose Hill Crafts in the early 1970s and exhibited for many years at the Jackson County Fair as well as craft shows throughout Indiana, where they made many friends who also exhibited at the same festivals year after year. She made decorative eggs, woven rugs, dried and silk flower pictures and arrangements, candles, heirloom books, plaques, grapevine wreaths and swags, crocheted both useful and decorative articles and pieced numerous quilts. She loved fresh flowers and flower arranging and took great pride in her flower gardens. Her interest in oil painting began when she was in the seventh grade and she kept it up when first married. Children, housework and the farm interrupted this activity for many years. Then she decided to pursue her interest by taking art lessons and mastered new techniques. She completed many beautiful paintings which are displayed and admired by her family and friends. Born Aug. 29, 1921, in Jackson County, Driftwood Township, she was the daughter of William and Agnes Hehman Teulker, both of whom preceded her in death. On Feb. 4, 1940, in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan, she married Curtis William Hermann Melloncamp, who preceded her in death on May 19, 2003. Survivors include children, Sharon (Dave) Baldwin, Columbus, Nina (Richard) Hackman, Brownstown, Barry (Linda) Melloncamp, Vallonia, and Rhonda (Rick) Hess, Tell City; brother, Norman (Mildred) Teulker, Brownstown; sister, Mentoria Russell, Vallonia; grandchildren, Douglas Hackman, Kenneth Hackman, Heidi Wintin, Kristi Farmer, Evan Melloncamp, Jaime Hess and Sara Hess; great-grandchildren, Michael, Vanessa and Olivia Hackman, Kayla Hackman, Sophia and Liam Kreis, Mackenzie and Carson Farmer and Rae Ann and Lawyer Wintin.
