Joyce Hunt Meurer
Joyce Hunt Meurer, 54, of North Vernon and formerly of Columbus, died at 3:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Meurer had been a press operator at Como Plastics in Columbus, retiring in 2000 after 24 years. She was a member of Vernon Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir, was an elder and was serving her second term on the session of the church. She was a 1965 graduate of North Vernon High School and enjoyed crafts and wandering Indiana.
Born March 12, 1947, in Vernon, she was a daughter of Calvin Hunt and Mildred Bowerly Hunt.
Survivors include a son, Calvin Roger Meurer, Columbus, and five sisters, Ruth Logan, North Vernon, Bernice Wessel, Scipio, Evelyn Matthews, Brewersville, and Sally Warf and Susan Halsey, both of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ada Trowbridge and Estella Sullivan.
The Rev. Vicki Bethel will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Vernon Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Vernon Presbyterian Church.
