Seymour Daily Tribune April 17, 2002 Herbert Theodore Meyer Herbert Theodore Meyer, 76, Columbus, died at 11:45 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2002, at his home. Mr. Meyer was a farmer and a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, White Creek. He was a past director of Farmers Marketing, and a member of Modern Farmers and the Bartholomew County Pork Producers. He was active in the Orphan Grain Train and was a member of the Lutheran Laymans League. Born Sept. 7, 1925, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Theodore and Hazel E. Vornholt Meyer. On Feb. 20, 1949, in Columbus, he married Mariagnes Schneider and she survives. He also is survived by four sons, Glen Meyer, Steve Meyer, Terry Meyer and Wayne Meyer, all of Columbus; a brother, Harold Meyer, Columbus; a sister, Marguerite Meyer, Columbus; 10 grandchildren, Vickie Hildreth and Bradley Meyer, both of Seymour, and Cathy Bontrager, Kevin Meyer, Chris Meyer, Angela Meyer, Matthew Meyer, Stephanie Meyer, Brian Meyer and Jessica Meyer, all of Columbus; and three great-grandchildren. The Rev. Eldon L. Brandt will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, White Creek. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel, Columbus, and from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Bartholomew County or the St. John’s Lutheran School Building Fund at White Creek.
