Seymour Daily Tribune April 11, 2002 Orville H. Meyer Orville H. Meyer, 85, Seymour, died at 2:22 a.m. today, Thursday, April 11, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Seymour. Mr. Meyer was a lifelong farmer of his own farm, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Whitecreek, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and in offices; a member of Aid Association for Lutherans; a past officer of Farmer Insurance; and a member of the Farm Bureau. Born Feb. 2, 1917, in Jackson County, he was a son of George F. Meyer and Sophia Moorman Meyer. Survivors include a brother, Walter W. Meyer; two nieces, Ruth Ann (Fred) Ortner, Whitehouse, Ohio, and Marilyn G. (Meyer) Thompson, Columbus; and four nephews, Harlan (Virginia) Burbrink, Edinburgh, and Marvin (Shirley) Burbrink, Lester (Donna) Burbrink and Larry (Charlene) Burbrink, all of Columbus. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Edwin and Earl Meyer; two sisters, Irma Burbrink and Ethel Meyer; and three nephews, Alvin, Lynn and Leonard Burbrink. The Rev. Eldon Brandt will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Whitecreek. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Whitecreek. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Service, Burkholder Chapel, Seymour, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Whitecreek; St. John’s School Building Fund; or Lutheran Community Home.
