Seymour Tribune - May 30, 2007 Robert Morris June 29, 1925 – May 27, 2007 Robert “Bob” Morris, 81, of Anderson and formerly of Seymour, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2007, in Anderson. Mr. Morris was a member of Worldwide Church of God. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Rose Society and was an avid rose gardener, cultivating more than 100 species of roses. Born June 29, 1925, in Hayden, he was a son of William and Eva Barnes Morris, both of whom preceded him in death. On July 8, 1954, in Vernon, he married Thelma M. Smith Morris, who preceded him in death in 2003. Survivors include his daughter, Pamela (Disco) Vermillion, Anderson; his stepdaughter, Sheila (Bob) Hough, Madison; two grandchildren, Joshua Vermillion and Robert Vermillion; six stepgrandchildren, Gregory Nowling, Tammy Nowling Hamp, Joseph Lutes, Scott Lutes, Bob Lutes and Holly Lutes; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glen Morris, Seymour. The Rev. Caroli Wolfe will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7, all of Seymour. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
