Seymour Daily Tribune February 7, 2007 Shirley L. (Peak) Morris Shirley L. (Peak) Morris, 72, Seymour, died at 12:25 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, while in the company of family members at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour. Mrs. Morris worked at US Shoe, Seymour. She was also a Justice of the Peace and performed wedding ceremonies. She worked in the Jackson County Clerks office, and was co-owner of Peak's Texaco Service Station in Crothersville. She loved to sew, play bingo and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Orange County, Va. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Crothersville and Our Little Roses. Born in Seymour on May 18, 1934, she was a daughter of Raymond and Sarah (Allman) Bohall, both of whom preceded her in death. On Aug. 11, 1951, she married James K. Peak. They were divorced after 29 years. Mr. Peak survives. She married Curtis Morris on Nov. 13, 1982, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Peak (fiancé, Harold "Peanut" Allen, Jr.), Seymour, and Lisa Peak Nowling; two sons, Mike (Cindy) Peak, Seymour, and Joe ( Peggy) Peak, Seymour; one sister, Karen Ray Keyes; two brothers, Charles J. Early, and David R. Bohall; 10 grandchildren, Michelle Ankele, James Laxson, Sarah Peak, Patty Hopkins, Matthew Nowling, Heather DeShong, Lisa Fortunato, John Long, Stephanie Peak, and Lyndsay Perry; 16 great grandchildren; two great -great grandchildren; three stepchildren and several step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Vallee Richard Bohall. The Rev. Bobby Little will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family.
