Seymour Daily Tribune Nikki Christine Mudge August 4, 2006 Nikki Christine Mudge, 18, Seymour, died at 6:10 p.m. Aug. 2, 2006, at Riley Children's Hospital, Indianapolis. Ms. Mudge attended Margaret R. Brown Elementary School through fifth grade and then was homeschooled by Mary Beth Gibson until the age 18. Nikki had been ill her entire life, but she never complained about it. She had been in and out of hospitals and had been through many surgeries, but she continued to be an inspiration to other kids who were going through similar situations. Her Riley doctors, nurses, and home care specialists were always "awed" and inspired by Nikki's strength and confidence. She was often described as sweet, loveable and kind-hearted. Many felt she was an angel sent by God. She loved to laugh and talk a lot, but most of all she loved to spend time with her two very special cousins, Kaitlain and Kylie Bishop. She spent a lot of her time doing word search puzzles, video games and watching TV. She did get to enjoy a trip to Las Vegas given to her by the Dream Factory in Louisville, Ky. During that trip she visited her aunt Judy and uncle Mike and she had the time of her life. She had lots of peoples who loved her dearly, but the two most special people in her life were her mom and her mammy Jenny. Their lives revolved around taking care of her and because of that great care Nikki lived a much longer life than anyone expected. Born Dec. 5, 1987, in Columbus, she was a daughter of Ronald T. Mudge and Lisa Bohall Mudge. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives. Other survivors include her grandparents, Ron Bohall, Jenny "Mammy" Bohall, both of Seymour; great-grandmother, Gertrude Williams, Vallonia; one brother, Mitch Mudge, Seymour; two sisters, Toni Nicole Mudge and Lacey Lea Mudge, both of Seymour; aunts and uncles, Ron and Leslie Bohall, North Vernon, Bill Bohall, Vallonia, Dennis and Becky Watson, Seymour, Jesse and Angel Bishop, Seymour, John and Sissy McDonald, Marty and Barb Mucha, all of Mich. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Mary Mudge, and aunt Margaret Mudge. Ivan Vittitoe and Bob Holding will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon until time of service Sunday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Mudge Family.
