Annabel Murphy
Annabel Murphy, 82, Brownstown, passed away at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at her residence.
Mrs. Murphy attended Kurtz Church of the Nazarene and was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Clearspring High School and enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family.
Born Nov. 29, 1926, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Eathel and Lettie May Lyon Browning, both of whom preceded her in death. On Aug. 30, 1947, in Jeffersonville, she married Robert P. Murphy, who survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Rita J. Hanner, Kurtz; one brother, Bill Browning, Freetown; and two grandsons, Loy A. (Lori) Hanner Jr., Seymour, and Thomas P. Hanner, Kurtz.
She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Loy A. Hanner and sister-in-law, Betty Browning.
The Rev. Chris Breeden will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown. Burial will take place at Kurtz Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
