Seymour Daily Tribune Arthur Lee Nelson March 15, 1925 – July 18, 2006 Arthur Lee Nelson, 81, Norman, died at 2:58 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Nelson was a member of Norman Christian Church. He had worked as a self-employed farmer and as a farm equipment dealer for Allis-Chalmers and New Holland, initially as a partner in Hilltop Tractor Sales of Bedford and later as owner of Nelson Tractor Sales of Orleans, then, from the mid-1970s until 1999, he sold and delivered soybean meal and feed across southern Indiana. He was a veteran, discharged in 1947. Born March 15, 1925, in Indianapolis, he was a son of Arthur Burton and Rosy J. Melvin Nelson, both of whom preceded him in death. On Feb. 9, 1952, in Brownstown, he married Grace Cummings, who also preceded him in death. On Nov. 30, 1991, in Norman, he married Ruth Barnard Hillenburg, who survives. Other survivors include three children, Arthur R. Nelson, Decatur, Ala., Phillip Hillenburg, Norman, and Sam Hillenburg, Washington, D.C.; a brother, Charles Mason Nelson, Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Edward Nelson and (infant) Randolph Nelson, and two sisters, Roslyn Ann Burgess and Mary Evelyn Bratton. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will take place at Mundell Cemetery, Lawrence County. Military graveside rites will be conducted. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
