Seymour Daily Tribune November 22, 2006 Lyle A. Nelson Lyle A. Nelson, 94, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs. Nelson had moved to Seymour from Avon Park, Fla., to be nearer her family. After her marriage she moved to Rantoul, Ill., while her husband served in the Army-Air Corps until 1947. They then moved to Olney, Ill., and after her husband's retirement they moved to Avon Park, Fla. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Avon Park, Fla., the American Legion Auxiliary and 8 & 40 of Olney, Ill. Born Dec. 8, 1911, in Cuba, Mo., she was a daughter of Jacob A. and Florence (Maxwell) Dorf, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 4, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo., she married Clinton J. Nelson, Olney, Ill., who preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Ronald (Sue) Nelson, Seymour, and Richard Nelson, Nashua, N.H.; three grandchildren, Michael (Kathy) Nelson and Amy (Shawn) Blankenship, Seymour, and Melanie Nelson, Meredith, N.H.; three great-grandchildren: Mikaela, Rachael and Erin Nelson, all of Seymour. She was preceded in death by six brothers, three sisters, and a great-grandson, Tristan Logan Blankenship. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at Fountain Funeral Home, Avon Park, Fla. Burial will take place at Bougainvilla Gardens Cemetery, Avon Park. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27 at Voss Chapel, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday, Dec. 2 at Fountain Funeral Home, Avon Park, Fla. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church Youth Fund of Seymour or First United Methodist Church, Avon, Fla. or March of Dimes.
