Seymour Daily Tribune January 15, 2007 Rose Marie Newkirk Oct. 15, 1927 - Jan. 13, 2007 Rose Marie Newkirk, 79, Medora, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Mrs. Newkirk was a member of Medora United Methodist Church. She and was a homemaker and worked for 29 years at Medora United Plastic Factory. Born Oct. 15, 1927, in Tell City, she was a daughter of Carl Schneider and Hilda Herrmann Schneider, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 6, 1947, in Tell City, she married Thomas W. "Dody" Newkirk, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Patrick T. (Betty) Newkirk, Maryland, and David W. (Barbara) Newkirk, Vallonia; three grandchildren, Robert Thomas Newkirk, Cathy McKinney and Sherry Morris; five great-grandchildren, Robert T. Newkirk Jr., Lexi Morris, Gynn Morris, Johnny McKinney and Josh McKinney; and two sisters, Clara Christian, Indianapolis, and Mildred Hartz, Evansville. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy, Fred, Carl and Louis Schneider, and five sisters, Hilda Sollman, Dora Nedds, Nettie Hudgens, Anna Beard and Marie Blume. The Rev. John Thrasher will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Medora United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Zollman Cemetery, Medora. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be given to Zollman Cemetery or donor's choice. Arrangements are being handled by Hague Funeral Home, Medora.
