Lenvil Newton
Lenvil Newton, 69, Austin, died at 7:15 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2002, at Scott County Healthcare, Scottsburg.
Mr. Newton was retired from the Mazer Corp. in Seymour.
Born Feb. 21, 1933, in Perry County, Ky., he was a son of Crit Newton and Eva Colwell Newton, who both preceded him in death. On Jan. 28, 1954, he married Grethel Campbell Newton and she survives in Austin.
He also is survived by two sons, Dwayne Newton, Austin, and Joey Newton, Gainsboro, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Grover Newton, New Whiteland, Lonzo Newton, Austin, and Denver Newton and Robert Newton, both of Perry County, Ky.; and two sisters, Lizzie Angel and Mabel Morris, both of Austin.
He also was preceded by a son Jerry Newton, on June 6, 1985; and a brother, John M. Newton.
The Rev. Nickey Spicer will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Buchanan Funeral Home, Austin. Burial will be at Spurgeon Cemetery, Austin.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
