Seymour Tribune - September 15, 2009 Hattie Mae Nicholson 1929 - 2009 Hattie Mae Nicholson, 80, Brownstown, passed away at 6:44 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. Mrs. Nicholson was a member of Brownstown Nazarene Church and was a homemaker. She loved her church and loved to read and sew and enjoyed her cats. Born July 16, 1929, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Curtis and Mamie Wells Reynolds, both of whom preceded her in death. On Nov. 5, 1955, in Columbus, she married Samuel Nicholson, who survives. Other survivors include one stepdaughter, Bonita (Bob) Hartley, Washington; three brothers, Robert (Margaret) Reynolds, Jimmie (Judy) Reynolds and George (Roxie) Reynolds, all of Brownstown; two sisters, Dorothy McCory, Freetown, and Betty (Jim) McCrary, Seymour; and two grandchildren, April Barnes, Washington, and Jonathan Barnes, Loogootee. She was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Reynolds. Ben Durr will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday at Brownstown Nazarene Church. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
