Seymour Daily Tribune - 5/3/2006 Ronnie Nicholson June 9, 1942 – May 1, 2006 Ronnie Nicholson, 63, North Vernon, died at 6:50 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2006, at his residence after an illness of two months. Mr. Nicholson served in the National Guard from 1961 to 1969 and retired from Arvin Industries with 42 years of service. He was one of the founders and a big participant of Columbus Area Rodders. He had two dogs he loved and adored, Fred and Malice. Born June 9, 1942, in Louisville, Ky., he was a son of Emmitt Nicholson and Hilda Minton Nicholson. His father preceded him in death, and his mother survives at Vallonia. He married Lorene Plumlee Nicholson, who survives at North Vernon. Other survivors include two children, Thomas (Jennifer) Nicholson, Vallonia, and Angie (Jessie) McDonald, Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Jesse, Brooklyn and Taylor; a sister, Liz Toppe, Vallonia; two brothers-in-law, Kevin Plumlee, Tempe, Ariz., and Comer (Dorothy) Plumlee, Taylorsville; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Turner, Whitleyville, Tenn., and Janice (Harley) Lowe, Maryville, Tenn.; a special niece, Lynn Cole, Gainesboro, Tenn.; and a special cousin, Peg Louden, Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, John Plumlee, Robert Plumlee and Jack Toppe, and two sisters-in-law, Lois Taylor and Ruth Hale. The Rev. Ivan Vittitoe will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Burial will take place at Pollock Cemetery, Washington County. Full military graveside rites will be conducted. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
