Seymour Tribune - 13 May 2008 Charles Frederick Niehaus 1934 - 2008 Charles Frederick Niehaus, 73, Brownstown, passed away at 8 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at his son's home in Brownstown. Mr. Niehaus was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Surprise Christian Church and was a carpenter and factory laborer. He moved to Jackson County in 2000. Born December 28, 1934, in Acme, he was a son of Lawrence Niehaus and Verna Brooks Niehaus, both of whom preceded him in death. On December 22, 1973, in Indianapolis, he married Emma Neal Niehaus, who also preceded him in death. Survivors include children, Patty (Linn) Southworth, Fairland, Jeff (Karen) Stradley, Brownstown, and Glen (Kim) Niehause, Brownstown; a stepson, John Prey, Florida; sisters, Mary A. Brooks, Brownstown, and Jackie Jackson, Seymour; grandchildren, Matt Southworth, Wayne (Pam Spencer) Stradley, Beth Anne Stradley and Jeremy Niehause; a great-grandson, Chandler Niehause; and two stepgrandchildren, John Prey Jr. and Justin Prey. The Rev. Chris Criminger will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greenwood. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are being handled by Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia.
