Seymour Daily Tribune February 9, 2002 Clair Augustus Nunemaker Clair Augustus Nunemaker, 73, Columbus, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at his home. Mr. Nunemaker was employed with Cummins Engine Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid antique dealer and collector and was a member of First Christian Church and the Diesel Workers Union. He was a graduate of Columbus High School. Born July 5, 1928, in Van, Pa., he was a son of Earl A. and Cordella Willings Nunemaker. On Jul 14, 1951, he married Barbara Claire Vogel, who survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Jan Nunemaker, Elkhart, Toni Nunemaker, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Kim Kitterman, Earl Park, Ill.; two sons, Lyn and Kurt Nunemaker, both of Columbus; a sister, Delores Frederick, Easton, Pa.; and four grandchildren, Jared and Keevan Verkerke, Grand Rapids, Mich., Sarah Kitterman, Earl Park, Ill., and Payton Nunemaker, Columbus. He was preceded in death by a brother, Col. Harold Nunemaker. A private memorial service is pending. Memorials may be given to Columbus Regional Hospital Foundation Hospice Center Capital Building Fund. Alpha Funeral Service, Indianapolis, is in charge of arrangements.
