Seymour Daily Tribune Thomas O'Mara September 2, 2006 Thomas O'Mara, 44, of Seymour died Friday, Sept. 1, 2006. He was born Nov. 6, 1961, in Seymour to James and Cynthia Crist O'Mara. He married Joyce M. Bloemer on Aug. 17, 1985, in St. Anne's Catholic Church in North Vernon. He lived most of his life in Jennings and Jackson counties. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour. He was the assistant vice president of retail lending at Irwin Union Bank in Columbus. He formerly worked at Household Finance, Cummins Credit Union and Jackson County Bank. He is survived by his wife; four children: Eric, Connor, Katie and Nathan O'Mara; his mother; a brother: Mark (Jeannie) O'Mara; three sisters: Susan Brown of North Vernon, Barbara (Scott) Lockhart, Muncie, and Mary (Bart) Stuckwisch, Seymour, his mother-in-law: Agnes Bloemer of North Vernon; paternal grandmother: Juanita Mock of North Vernon; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; his father-in-law: Louis Bloemer, Jr.; paternal grandfather, Leo O'Mara; and maternal grandparents Milton and Marie Crist. Mr. O'Mara was a 1980 graduate of Jennings County High School and a 1984 graduate of Indiana University. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He coached youth basketball, soccer and baseball. He was a dedicated family man, a loving father and husband who loved spending time with his family and attending his children's sporting events. He was an avid IU basketball fan, enjoyed golf and tennis and loved life. He was also an '80s music buff. Friends may call at Voss Funeral Chapel from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour with Father Todd Goodson and Father Joseph Sheets officiating. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery. Friends may give memorials to St. Ambrose Catholic Church and School.
