Seymour Daily Tribune Alice L. Otterness July 30, 1925 – June 16, 2006 Alice L. Otterness, 80, Rochester, Minn., formerly a longtime resident of Stewartville, Minn., died Friday, June 16, 2006 at Seasons Hospice. Mrs. Otterness was a homemaker, and her husband was a high school teacher in Stewartville. She was born July 30, 1925, in Seymour. On April 28, 1945, in Seymour, she married Jerome Otterness, who survives, and they moved to Decorah, Iowa. In 1948, they moved to Belgrade, Minn., where they lived until moving to Stewartville in 1952. They moved to Rochester in 1987. Survivors include a son, David, Rochester, a daughter, Nancy (Larry Smith) Otterness, Edina, Minn.; four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Harold Wieneke; and a sister, Harriett Weddle. Memorials may be given to Seasons Hospice or to the Ronald McDonald House. Macken Funeral Home, Rochester, was in charge of arrangements.
