Seymour Daily Tribune April 29, 2002 Irene Pace Irene Pace, 49, Columbus, died at 1 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2002, following an extended illness. Mrs. Pace was employed for 13 years with Bartholomew County School Corp. as a teacher's assistant with the special education program. She was a member of the Church of the New Covenant, Austin, where she was the activities director. Born Sept. 21, 1952, in Hazard, Ky., she was a daughter of Garrett and Marie Richie White, and they both preceded her in death. On July 8, 1974, in Clintwood, Va., she married Benjamin V. “Benny” Pace, and he survives. She also is survived by two daughters, Delcie N. Pace and Stacey M. Pace, both of Columbus; four sisters, Ilene Lawson, Columbus, Muriel Lewis and Edna Sue Strong, both of Austin, and Barbara Bush, Salem; three brothers, the Rev. Harold White, Garrett White Jr., and Arnold Lee White, all of Austin; and her stepmother, Ailene Wilcox White, Austin. She also was preceded by a sister, Rose White; and a brother, Wayne Edward White. The Rev. Harold White will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel, Columbus. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
