Seymour Tribune Gale E. Patrick 1923 - 2009 Gale E. Patrick, 86, Seymour, passed away Monday evening, Aug. 10, 2009, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mr. Patrick graduated from Seymour High School and was a World War II veteran. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Asiatic and Pacific Campaign and helped liberate the Philippines. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, a Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He worked at Arvin Industries, Cummins Engine Co. and Seymour Manufacturing before his retirement. He also delivered meals for Grace Fellowship for several years after his retirement. Born in Seymour, on Feb. 20, 1923, he was the son of Charles W. and Gertrude Pearl Winkler Patrick, both of whom preceded him in death. On Aug. 22, 1947, in Seymour, he married Frances M. Smith Patrick, who preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 2000. They were faithful members of Seymour First Church of the Nazarene for more than 50 years. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Diane (John) Sage; two sons, David E. (Lana) Patrick and Darrell E. (Lori) Patrick; eight grandchildren, Brandi Patrick, Todd Patrick, Neil Patrick, Stephanie Patrick, Jason Patrick, Alissa Sage, Jon Sage and Joe Sage; nine great-grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, Jasmine, Blake, Aubrey, Ashley, Gabrielle, Brayden and Brishan; a sister, Norma J. Fettig; three brothers,?Curtis E. Patrick, Daniel W. Patrick and Charles Patrick Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bradley, James and Robert. Pastor Steve Barrett will conduct a celebration of Gale's life at 1 p.m. Friday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with a Voss dove tribute. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 89, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, Disabled American Veterans, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
