Seymour Daily Tribune March 7, 2002 Mildred B. Pearsey Mildred B. Pearsey, 88, Scottsburg, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Louisville. Mrs. Pearsey was retired as a schoolteacher for the Torrance Unified School District, Torrance, Calif. She was a member of Scottsburg First Presbyterian Church, Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Retired School Teachers Association and the Kiwanians. She received a bachelor of science degree from Hanover College and a master’s degree from Pepperdine College in Los Angeles. Born March 12, 1913, in Scottsburg, she was the daughter of Henry and Lena Miller Bonsett. She married Graydon V. Hardy, who preceded her in death. She married Wallace Pearsey, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Greg B. Hardy, Huntington Beach, Calif.; a brother, Kendall Bonsett, Scottsburg; and two grandchildren. The Rev. Cloyce Burcham will conduct services at 11 a.m. Friday at Stewart Funeral Home, Scottsburg. Burial will be in Scottsburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. A Phi Beta Psi Sorority memorial service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Scottsburg First Presbyterian Church or the Phi Beta Psi Sorority National Cancer Research Project in care of the funeral home.
