Seymour Daily Tribune Opal Pendleton Sugust 11, 2006 Aug. 18, 1920 - Aug. 10, 2006 Opal Kidd Pendleton, 85, of Lakeland, Fla., and formerly of Crothersville died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at Lakeland. Mrs. Pendleton was a member of Tampico Baptist Church since 1946 and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was retired from Excello Shirt Factory and was active with Crothersville Senior Citizens. Born Aug. 18, 1920, at Delta, Ky., she was a daughter of Lewis E. Kidd and Angie Tucker, who both preceded her in death. On Oct. 26, 1942, she married Ben Pendleton at Delta, Ky., and he died Nov. 22, 1991. Survivors include a daughter, Margie (Travis) Oliver of Lakeland, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Kidd, Crothersville, Ruby Powell, Seymour, and Adele Compton, Somerset, Ky.; two grandchildren, Michelle (Michael) Mosley, Seymour, and Christine (William) Davis, Indianapolis; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Cockerham, Kaylee Davis and Delaney Davis, all of Indianapolis, and Megan Hall and Codie Brittain, both of Seymour; and a great-grandchild, Carter Brannen, Seymour. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Kidd and Otis Kidd; a sister, Bessie Canada; and a great-granddaughter, Paige Davis. Harold Morrow will conduct services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home in Brownstown with burial in Russell Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Hospice, Lakeland, Fla., or Tampico Baptist Church.
